Phillip Nathaniel Saunders is a Los Angeles–based hair and makeup department head, visual artist, photographer, writer, and poet whose work spans film, television, music videos, and global commercial campaigns. Known for blending technical craftsmanship with strong visual storytelling, Phillip brings a multidisciplinary artistic approach to every project—from cinematic character work to contemporary beauty and editorial styling.

Phillip has Appalachian roots and was raised in Maysville, Kentucky, where he developed an early appreciation for art, storytelling, and visual composition that continues to influence his work today. He later attended Morehead State University, where he further developed his creative foundations before beginning his professional career in the fashion, editorial, and entertainment industries.

Phillip’s film and television credits include Place of Bones (starring Heather Graham and Tom Hopper), Paper Bag Plan, Miami Bici 2, Holiday in the Vineyards, Hidden Canyons, Minsky, Two of Everything, and A Thousand Suns, serving in roles including Hair Department Head, Key Hair Stylist, and Makeup Artist.

His work in the music industry includes projects with artists such as Lizzo, Charlie Puth, Twenty One Pilots, Marilyn Manson, Ronnie Radke, Ice Nine Kills, and Dayseeker, contributing to visually distinctive music videos recognized across streaming and digital platforms.

In the commercial and editorial world, Phillip’s work has been featured in campaigns and publications including Fox Sports, Oribe, KAO Brands (John Frieda, Biore, Jergens), P&G (Olay, Aussie), ELTA-MD, XM Radio, Gentleman Jack, Chambord, Airstream, Beautycon, V Magazine, Vogue, Interview Magazine, Reader’s Digest, FIASCO, LA Fashion Magazine, and Cincinnati Magazine, among others. His creative work has also contributed to New York Fashion Week campaigns and brand collateral for John Frieda.

Throughout his career, Phillip has worked with a range of notable performers and public figures including Lizzo, Hailey Bieber, Charlie Puth, McKenna Grace, Marilyn Manson, Twenty One Pilots, Ronnie Radke, Jelly Roll, Mena Massoud, Rob Gronkowski, Kathy Lee Gifford, Cheryl Tiegs, Heather Graham, Julie Newmar, Kay Lenz, Ice Nine Kills, Dayseeker, Kylie Cantell, Piper Rockelle, Presley Hasbach, David Banner, Nasri Atweh, and Diala Maki, among others.

Outside of his work in entertainment, Phillip is also an entrepreneur. Together with his husband Johnny, he operates Silver Inspiration Ranch in Los Angeles, a working equestrian facility and creative space. The ranch is also home to Shadow Hills Riding Club, a nonprofit program dedicated to therapeutic and community-based equestrian experiences
